Photographers
The Prom Night photograph is fast becoming as iconic as the Graduation Day shot. Parents love to have them as it is a rare opportunity to capture daughters and in particular sons in finery they never normally wear, as well as being an important record of a very special coming of age event.
Therefore, a good photographer for the night is a must. There are photographers who specialise in this type of work and they can easily be found on a Google search. Their websites should show previous work and you can decide if you like their style. They do get very busy around late Spring/Summer so early booking is recommended. One thing which is important to consider is how many students you will have attending and how many photographs can realistically be taken that night. Most students will want to be included in at least one official photograph either single, couple or group. If there is just one photographer taking shots then your students could be queuing all night to get their turn. If you have lots of students the photographer could bring extra staff with him or you could arrange for some students to arrive at the Prom venue an hour or so early to have their photos done. This is something you need to sort out with your chosen photographer well before the event.
You will also need to know a number of things from them:
- Availability
- Cost
- How the photographs are purchased afterwards
- How much space they will need
- How many photos they can take on the night (see above)
- What time they need to gain access to set up
- Are they familiar with the venue
