Let’s be honest, Prom Night is all about the dress! Naturally you want the most beautiful, unusual and flattering dress you’ve ever worn. You want to look stunning, amazing, breathtaking. You want the men to stare open mouthed and the women to weep. You want that totally fit guy who never notices you to suddenly see you in a whole new light. We know.

So how is this to be achieved. More importantly, how is this to be achieved on your budget. Yes, we did say the ‘B’ word but more of that later.
Finding the right Prom dress can be difficult but it should always be fun. If you start getting stressy remember this. The wonderful thing about the modern British Prom Night is that you can basically wear anything (bar jeans or your school uniform) from a full blown, full skirted, full length, full on taffeta and net extravaganza to a simple, slinky, knee length, cocktail dress and, yes, it will be just perfect. The main thing is to find a dress which suits you, your personality and your budget.
There it is again, the ‘B’ word. Thanks to the current Credit Crunch you won’t be alone in having to stick to a budget for your Prom dress. Teenagers all over Britain will be arguing the toss with their parents about how much they can spend and planning extra baby sitting work to fund their Prom Night purchases.
On a very restricted budget? Don’t despair. Discount shopping outlets, stores like TK Max, sales, second hand shops and eBay can throw up amazing bargains. Buy some beautiful fabric and make your frock, find out how much it would cost to have it made for you or why not alter an existing dress. Look into the cost of hiring a dress or just shamelessly ravage the wardrobes of your friends and family.
